DNOW Resources for students and parents

Disciple Now 2008 was an awesome weekend of worship, growth and relationship.

Our main speaker and weekend pastor was Jameson Reeder. You can see some of Jameson's videos on You Tube by clicking here.

The worship band for the weekend was Bloom. You can check out their music on their myspace page.

There was an artist there named Kerry Jackson. You can find out more about his ministry "Drawing To The Rock" by clicking here.

Main Scripture Passages:
John 3:16-18--Will transformation be visible in my life?

Romans 12:2-8--The transformation initiation.

John 3:5-8--The birth of transformation

John 3:30--God must be greater, I must be less

Philippians 2:5-8--Because Jesus was human, we can follow him--this makes becoming like Jesus a reality and gives us hope!

John 13:1-17--If you really want to become like Jesus, it means being a servant. You can never be the same once you see this truth. To return to your life the same as before would be a brutality to the truth. It will cause your heart to grow callous and your ears to grow numb to God's voice.

Some words we defined:

Evolution: People, ideas and other things must evolve in th sense of developing to a higher and greater level. Christians evolve as they do the will of God always and conform their lives to His unchanging truth in the Bible.

Holistic: This is a word of Greek origin "holos" which relates to every aspect of human life--body, soul, mind, etc. The Gospel of Christ is holistic in that it relates to every single aspect of human life.

Targum: Hebrew word that refers to hearing God's voice through rewriting Scripture while remaining faithful to the author's original intent. Our students practiced Targum with John 3:16-18.
