1K Challenge January Report

Here is our January report to Youthworks! for our 1K Challenge:

1. What are some things you have been able to accomplish so far?

We have opened our bank account and have deposited the check from Youthworks! plus some extra money that we have collected; we have made flyers for our project (we're attaching one); we have planned the first day of programming; we have studied Luke 5:1-11 as a group (that is our first session's bible passage); we have planned a shopping trip to pick up needed supplies.

2. What are your next steps?

Go shopping for supplies on January 21; order the kids Bibles; recruit children to come; continue to share our vision and goals with our congregation.

3. What are a couple of big things you have learned so far?

That Jesus wants us all to follow him, no matter where we come from (Luke 5); that planning a kid's club requires more planning than we thought.

4. Our "Yea Gods:"

That we are a small group with big ideas and God is using our group to do things.
That we are healthy.
That we have a supportive church.

5. Our prayer requests:

We want to pray that we would be able to recruit kids. The school system can't help us do that so we're on our own.
We pray for our first day.
We pray for the kids that God would call to come and be a part of this program.
We pray for our group, that we would be ready to lead.

We especially want to pray for the other groups who won the 1K Challenge and the ministries that they are starting.

Thanks!

Hannah, Elle, Sarah, Cecilia, India, BJ and Becky
